In July, in a small ceremony in the West Wall of the Forbidden Palace in Beijing, Mark and the People’s Literature Publishing House together introduced the Chinese language version of Mark’s memoir <<走出肯尼亚>> (Out of Kenya) to the mainland Chinese market.
The book chronicles Mark’s multicultural journey across Kenya, America and China, as well as the history, failures and successes of the Obama family. The event was covered by national media, including Xinhua and the Southern Metropolis Daily.
At the event, Mark discussed the book with readers and the press, and gave a brush calligraphy demonstration of the words 百计千心 （Explore hundreds of strategies and thousands of ideas）in cursive cao script.
